Individual and Family Membership Join the YMCA Now

Y memberships are designed to help you live well throughout your life. No locked-in contracts and no unwanted pressure. There are memberships for adults, children/youth, families and students.

Access to group fitness classes, pools, gymnasium, courts, and conditioning center is included in membership. Unlimited fitness orientations led by certified YMCA Fitness Leaders. Swim lessons included in memberships, subject to availability.

Cancellation Policy
To cancel your membership written notification must be provided a minimum of five days prior to your payment date. We do not accept verbal cancellation requests. Email notifications may be sent to membership@nl.ymca.ca. Membership cards must be returned and the $25 cancellation fee paid. This fee is not applicable to financially assisted members or members under the age of 13 years. Access to the facility will be granted until the last day of your payment period (1st or 15th). Cancellation fees may be paid up front by cash, debit, or credit card at time of cancellation or by PAP on or about the 1st or 15th immediately following notification to cancel.

Membership On-Hold Policy
Memberships may be placed on hold for one month, up to a maximum of six months. Requests must be made a minimum of five days prior to payment date. Membership on-hold requests are permitted once every 12-month period. Published membership fees will apply at the time of reactivation. Re-registration for swim lessons is required. Cancellation of membership not permitted while on hold. Passes are not eligible for holds.

Building Fund Fee (BFF)

A non-refundable fee for individual adults & adults in Family Memberships (General and Adult Only). This fee is used for the maintenance of high quality Y facilities through capital improvements, renovations and refurbishment.

  • It is a fee charged to adults upon registration, it is subsidized for assisted members
  • $75/adult taxes included
  • If you cancel and rejoin within 6 months it does not need to be paid again (from cancellation date/payment)
  • If transferring membership (YMCA Canada reciprocal membership policy) or moving from one Y to another Y for whatever reason you will not to have to pay the fee again
  • The fee will not be charged for single membership upgrade e.g. adult to adult only OR family to family adult only
  • If a current member ages out of membership category that does not have the BFF, they will rollover without being required to pay BFF. E.g. Student to Adult

Month-to-Month Payment

Month-to-month payments make it easy to join, stress-free. Don’t know where you’ll be in six months? Don’t worry about it. Join us!

Family Membership

Family is one or two adults (General or Adult Only) and any dependent children youth or students 21 or under. Family discounts start at 15%. Please contact us for details.

Anywhere in Canada

Travel for work? Your YMCA membership may be used at any YMCA in Canada. Find your YMCA by visiting the YMCA Canada website at www.ymca.ca. Your membership card will be accepted at any YMCA in North America. The amount or frequency of your visits may be restricted based on each association’s policies surrounding out-of-town members.

YMCA Visitor Policy

Any member visiting from another YMCA will receive a YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador visitor card for one a minimum of one (1) week. Visitor privileges may be granted up to a four (4) month consecutive period in the calendar year. Home YMCA association membership card is required. If one is not available another piece of Photo ID is required. Home association membership must be in good standing.

If visitor has permanently relocated to the area – they will be asked to cancel at their home YMCA and join with YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador.  If paid in full (yearly membership) then membership will be transferred and recognized until anniversary date – at which point you will be asked to pay YMCA membership fees. Building fund fees are not required on new/transferred membership if already paid at home association (receipt required).

Course Discount

Being a member also gives you a discounted rate for our other programs: YMCA fitness leadership courses, life saving courses, special interest clinics and more.

Change Rooms

We have five change rooms to suit unique needs:

  • Family and Special Needs
  • Male All Ages General
  • Female All Ages General
  • Men Adult Only (19 years & up)
  • Women Adult Only (19 years & up)

Membership Adult Only rooms offer extra amenities like card access to adult-only change rooms, towel service, body care products and sauna. Boys and girls over 6 years of age must use the family change room or the same sex change room with their parent/guardian.

Child Minding

We look after the ones you love so you can have time to look after yourself. We will care for children ages 0-6 years old. You can book up to two days in advance for a 1.5 hour time slot. Maximum of 16 children per time slot. To book call 726-9622 x 221, 222 or 281.

Bike Parking

We offer bike parking at the back & front entrances of the building.
