Join Our Team

Based on the YMCA Playing to Learn emergent curriculum our all-day child care program is licensed by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We are seeking a full time Administrator to lead our Child Care team. The administrator is expected to ensure the facility and the child care service provide a healthy, safe and developmentally appropriate environment. This also includes the Administrator being at the facility during the main programming hours to provide direct mentoring, professional support and direction to the employees, students and volunteers who assist or provide services in the operations of the child care service. Must be knowledgeable of the Child Care Act and Regulations, as well as related Child Care Policy and Standards. Will oversee all aspects of programming while working within a focused team environment. The goal is to challenge and motivate children by creating a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment. Support is provided to families while diligently adhering to government regulations and YMCA policies, procedures and standards.

Job Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in education and/or industry equivalent
  • AECENL Preschool Certification Level 2 or higher
  • Experience working in early learning environments
  • Experience with licensing policies, regulations and supervising staff
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and to do direct delivery
  • Acceptable Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sectors Check
  • Current Standard First Aid
