YMCA Pre-Kindergarten programs support families and foster the healthy growth and development of children. Our programs help children build self-confidence, learn healthy behaviors, and develop strong values. Based on the YMCA Playing to Learn emergent curriculum our all-day child care program is licensed by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We are seeking full time Early Childhood Educators to join our Child Care team for location throughout the Province. The goal is to challenge and motivate children by creating a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment. Support is provided to families while diligently adhering to government regulations and YMCA policies, procedures, and standards. The YMCA is the Selected Proponent for the Newfoundland and Labrador Pre-K Pilot with locations anticipated to open in communities across the province in 2022 and 2023. These positions are posted pending capacity funding.

Job Requirements

  • Early Childhood Education Certificate, Diploma or Degree or Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary)
  • AECENL Pre-school orientation and Early Learning Child Care Framework course considered assets
  • Experience working in early learning
  • Current Standard First Aid
  • Acceptable Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sectors Check
