We’re thrilled to share that the YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador will be launching a brand-new website in the coming weeks!
This update is part of our commitment to improving your online experience — making it easier to find information, register for programs, and stay connected with what’s happening at your local YMCA. The new website will feature a refreshed look, improved navigation, and a more user-friendly design for both desktop and mobile.
We’ll be sharing more details soon, including when the new site will officially launch. In the meantime, here are a few answers to questions you might have:
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is the YMCA launching a new website?
A: Our new site is designed to be more intuitive and accessible. It will make it easier to browse programs and identify the branch or program site nearest to you.
Q: What will the main differences be?
A: The new website has a “program-first” approach. If you’re looking for information on the programs and services the YMCA’s in our province offer, this will be much easier to find, without having to know which YMCA you are nearest to. Once you’re ready to take the next steps, you can then “find your local YMCA”, to see the branch or program site nearest to you so you can proceed with purchasing membership, registering for classes, and more!
Q: What is the difference between a “branch” and a “program site”?
A: On the new website, branches refer to main YMCA locations that offer a range of services and amenities. Program sites are separate buildings or locations — such as schools — where YMCA programs (like child care or after-school activities) are delivered, even though they are not full YMCA facilities.
Q: Will anything change about how I register for programs or view schedules?
A: No! You will still be able to view the schedule for a quick glance through the website, and continue to register for classes through the My Y app, and pay for membership, childcare, and birthday parties through the online portals.
Q: Where can I send feedback or ask questions?
A: Once the new site is live, we’ll welcome your feedback. In the meantime, you can reach out to info@nl.ymca.ca with any questions.
Thank you for your patience as we make this exciting transition. We can’t wait to share the new site with you!
