Canadian Tire Jumpstart

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities is committed to ensuring kids in need have equal access to sport and recreation. The YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador is happy to announce that we are a recipient of community development funds again this season.

Since 2005 Jumpstart has disbursed more than $215 million to help over 2.5 million kids and counting. Along with Jumpstart, we understand the importance of sport for the health and well-being of kids and their families and are proud of the work we do to provide community sport and play. With Jumpstart’s support, we’ll be able to ensure more children in families facing financial barriers have access to play and sport, and purchase needed equipment and materials that enable kids to play safely at the Ches Penney Family YMCA, the Marystown YMCA, and the Central Labrador YMCA.

Thank you, Jumpstart!

Grieg Seafood NL

Staff, volunteers, and members at the YMCA in Marystown were pleased to accept a generous $30,000 donation from Perry Power of Grieg Seafood NL recently! Grieg’s support of the YMCA at the Partner level will help the Burin Peninsula YMCA Annual Campaign over the next five years. The Annual Campaign fund ensures no one is turned away from accessing programs at the YMCA due to financial barriers. Thank you, Grieg, for helping people in the region live healthier lives!

TD Bank

Thank you TD for your donation to help support our YMCA Financial Assistance Program! This program gives people facing financial barriers the opportunity to participate at the YMCA in activities that contribute to good health and well-being. Support of donors makes this possible!

Canadian Tire Jumpstart

The YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador is proud to be a recipient of Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Funding for Round 2 in 2021.

With Canadian Tire Corporation’s commitment of $12 million to Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund in 2021, together, we’ll help build back communities through sport and play. As one of over 500 sport and recreation organizations across Canada to receive grant funding from the latest round of support from Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund this year, the continued need for support is apparent.

In 2021 alone, Jumpstart has disbursed over $9 million in grants to over 800 sport and recreation organizations across Canada through Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund.

Along with Jumpstart, we understand the role sport plays in the health and well-being of kids and their families and are doing everything possible to help community sports continue.

With Jumpstart’s support, the YMCA will ensure safety protocols through the purchase of PPE and cleaning equipment; and through the purchase of specific sports and recreation equipment to help keep children involved and safe at the YMCA while mitigating the risks associated with the transmission of COVID-19. Funds have been provided to help YMCAs on the Avalon Peninsula, Burin Peninsula, and in Central Labrador (opening soon!).

As we continue emerging from these challenging times, we know the role of and return to play will be more important than ever. Thank you Jumpstart, for helping the YMCA keep children active and involved.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart

The YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador was proud to be a recipient of Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Funding for Round 1 in 2020. This fund is helping sport and recreation organizations continue to operate in 2020 and beyond.

Canadian Tire supported the YMCA with the Jumpstart Sport Relief Fund. The YMCA understands the role sport and recreation plays in the health and well-being of kids and their families and is doing everything possible to ensure its community programs continue.

With Jumpstart’s support, the YMCA could ensure safety protocols, extra cleaning equipment, and additional sports and recreation equipment were in place to help keep children involved and safe at the YMCA while mitigating the risks associated with the transmission of COVID-19.

As we emerge from these challenging times, we know the role of and return to play will be more important than ever. Thank you Jumpstart!
