Ches Penney Family YMCA After Day Play
After Day Play is a staff supervised program where school age children participate in recreational activities, games, and play throughout the school year. For this program, various spaces such as the multi-purpose room, and gymnasium are used. The parent or guardian must accompany the child into the center to check them in with a After Day Play staff member (parents are responsible for these arrangements). Parents/guardians are also responsible for transportation to pick their child(ren) up at end of the day and must sign their child(ren) out. Parents must pack a snack for their child(ren).
Prerequisites:
- Any school aged child from (4yrs 9months to 12yrs).
- The school aged child must have an active YMCA membership that is in good standing.
- Registration is required.
- The Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk must be completed by all parents/guardians.
When:
- After Day Play Program is available from September 4, 2024 to June 26, 2025. The program will follow the school year schedule and be closed during the Easter, Christmas and summer holiday breaks.
- After Day Play Program will not have extended hours on Professional Learning days throughout the school year.
- Default (continuous enrollment) registration is as follows:
- School dismissal (~2:30pm) to 5:30pm Monday-Friday.
Due to YMCA recognized holidays, After Day Play will not available on the following dates:
- September 30, 2024
- October 14, 2024
- November 11, 2024
- December 21, 2024 to January 5, 2025
- April 18 to April 27, 2025 (stay tuned for Holiday Camp info)
- May 19, 2025
- June 23, 2025
- June 26, 2025 last day before summer holidays

How to register:
- For continuous enrollment (Sept-June), a parent/guardian must pre-register through the YMCA website by clicking REGISTER NOW button below. Once submitted, the Provincial Registrar will process your request and respond to you. Once registration has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a payment plan showing future scheduled payments that will occur on the 1st and 15th of all months for which your child(ren) has been registered. No payment is due upon registration.
- For single day drop-ins, a parent/guardian can visit the Welcome Desk at the Ches Penney Family YMCA to register and pay for that day. Payment can be processed by cash, cheque, debit or credit card.
- Editing or cancelling a child’s continuous enrollment: Fourteen days written/email notice is required to withdraw my child/ren from the program. In lieu of notice, fees for 30 days may be charged to my account. If the is an outstanding balance on the account, it must be paid in full before the withdraw of the child(ren) from this program. Please send written notice to provincialregistrar@nl.ymca.ca. When processed, a confirmation will be sent to the parent/guardian.
