Enterprise Olympics – Inspiring Young Entrepreneurial Minds

Enterprise Olympics Program guides students as they build businesses and tap into their entrepreneurial potential. There are four programs; Create A Logo (Grades 4, 5 & 6), Community Matters (Grades 7, 8 & 9), Y LEARN (Newcomer Youth), and the Venture Marketing Plan/Enterprise Olympics (Entrepreneurship 3209 Students: Grade 10, 11 & 12).

Our Programs

  • Create A Logo (Grades 4, 5 & 6)
Elementary student’s are asked to identify a need in their community, build a theoretical business or social enterprise to meet that need, and represent their idea with a brief description and logo.

  • Community Matters (Grades 7, 8 & 9)
Junior high student’s are asked to identify a need in their community and plan business to fill that need. They’re expected to research and develop their business concept, and use the medium of their choice to articulate the idea (video, powerpoint, essay, etc.). Details are expected.

  • Y LEARN (Newcomer Youth)
This program is designed for newcomer students enrolled in the LEARN (Literacy Enrichment and Academic Readiness for Newcomers) branch of the NLESD. Students are asked to identify a community-wide issue or gap in newcomer services, and present a business-based through the medium of their choice.

  • Venture Marketing Plan / Enterprise Olympics (Entrepreneurship 3209 Students, Grade 10, 11 & 12)
The top fifteen student-entrepreneurs province-wide are selected to attend and compete at a provincial, year-end, entrepreneurship conference called The Enterprise Olympics. Selected students are required to present their Venture Marketing Plans to a panel of judges/business professionals. The conference includes extensive professional development and experiential learning opportunities.
