Central Labrador YMCA Child Care
We are accepting waitlist and registration applications for preschool child care spaces at the Central Labrador YMCA.
These child care spaces are for preschool children (33 – 69 months) and are prioritized for Health Care Workers. The cost is $10/per day.

The YMCA is the largest provider of non-profit licensed child care in Canada. YMCA Child Care & Camp programs support families and foster the healthy growth and development of children. Our programs help children to build self-confidence, learn healthy behaviours, and develop strong values.
Based on the YMCA Playing to Learn emergent curriculum our all-day child care program is licensed by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. General operating hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm or 9:00am – 5:00pm. These hours are subject to change.
The full-day program includes morning and afternoon snacks, and a hot lunch.
Programs run five days per week year-round and are closed for statutory holidays. All programs are full-time (five days per week). All registrants are subject to a non-refundable registration fee upon registration.
- The YMCA is pleased to be collaborating with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in providing an online platform that is accessible to everyone in our province. Early Learning Gateway will improve access to early learning and child care by connecting child care services and families through a digital waitlist.
- You must complete the Waitlist and Registration Application Form to be added to the waitlist.
- You can register for multiple site locations. Please only send in one waitlist per site location.
- You will be contacted by the Registrar when a space becomes available.
- To confirm your space please call: 1-709-726-YMCA (9622) ext. 401, or email provincialregistrar@nl.ymca.ca and arrange to pay the registration fee. We ask that you accept/reject the space offered within 48 hours of YMCA contact. If you reject a space offered, you can request to be added to the waitlist again for a future space. Registration fee payment methods are credit card or debit from bank account. We do not accept cash or cheque.

Please leave a voicemail if line is busy. All voicemails will be answered within a 24-48 hour period. For all messages that are received on weekends or holidays, expect messages to be answered by the end of the following Tuesday or Wednesday.
