Central Labrador YMCA Birthday Parties and Facility Rentals

The Central Labrador YMCA has facilities that can accommodate meetings, conferences, and other social events for different group sizes. Hourly and daily rates are available. For more information on rentals, continue scrolling down this page.

Birthday parties are set at designated times in each facility.

Birthday Pool Rental:

  • Saturday 1:45:-3:45 PM | 5:00-7:00 PM
  • Sunday 1:45:-3:45 PM | 5:00-7:00 PM

Birthday Gym/Rock Climbing Wall Rental:

  • Saturday 11:00 PM-1:00 PM | 1:45:-3:45 PM | 5:00-7:00 PM
  • Sunday 11:00 PM-1:00 PM | 1:45:-3:45 PM | 5:00-7:00 PM

Businesses/organizations with a HST number and legal company name will need to do the following to rent YMCA spaces:

  • Sign rental agreement
  • Provide insurance certificate (list the YMCA as an additional insured)
  • Complete online participant waivers
  • No refund for unused time in rental. Rentals cannot be extended without prior agreement.

If you are an individual or group (not a registered business/organization), and want to rent YMCA spaces, you will be required to complete the online waiver form for each participant. No rental agreement or insurance certificate required. No refund for unused time in rental. Rentals cannot be extended without prior agreement.

Additional Information

Groups need to book at least 1 day in advance. Payment is due upon rental registration. Payment methods are VISA, MC, AMEX, cheque or cash. A digital Rental agreement will be signed by both parties.

If a renter cannot attend due to extenuating circumstances such as illness etc. the YMCA will provide a credit to the payer for future use (no expiry). A credit can be used/transferred for any fee for service product the YMCA offers. E.g., A credit from a rental can be used towards day camp or private swim lessons. Refunds will be considered upon request. If the YMCA needs to close due to extreme weather or maintenance the payer will receive a credit (or refund upon request). Please allow 4-8 weeks for a refund cheque to be mailed to you. We do not refund to the original method of payment.

  • With five days’ notice of cancellation, we will provide a full refund of rental booking; allow 4-8 weeks for processing of refund (it is sent in the mail as a physical cheque from our corporate office in St. John’s).
  • With less than five days’ notice of cancellation, we will provide a 50% refund of rental booking; allow 4-8 weeks for processing of refund (it is sent in the mail as a physical cheque from our corporate office in St. John’s).

Events requiring a permit will be considered on an individual basis.

Note: Some spaces maybe shared with YMCA members. Set up, take down and cleaning services included. Not-for-profit 10% discount. Minimum of a 2-hour rental. *Please ask for child or adult tables and chairs inventory. Additional tables and chairs would be the cost of the renter.

Register for either a Gymnasium or Pool Birthday Rental. Rentals can include either 1-hour access to the full gymnasium or access to play pool and 1/2 of the main pool, followed by 1- hour in a multi-purpose room. Book your Birthday Rental today!

Child Minding Room

Capacity: 12 people max

Member Fee per Hour (+ HST): $65 + HST (first hour)

Non-Member Fee per Hour (+ HST): $70 + HST (first hour)

$20/$25 each additional hour includes a staff person to supervise children

Multi-Purpose Room & Rock Climbing Wall Bundle

YMCA Indoor Rock-Climbing Wall: The YMCA is committed to your safety while participating in our programs, services and facilities. The Indoor Rock-Climbing Wall will be closed due to maintenance and a delay in shipping of the belay system from Sept 22-Oct 10, re-opening on Oct 11.

Climbers must be at least age 6+

Min weight: 18kgs (40lbs) / Max weight: 130kgs (300lbs)

Member Fee per Hour (+ HST): $200 + HST
Non-Member Fee per Hour (+ HST): $250 + HST
1-hour Multipurpose room, 1-hour Rock Climbing Wall

Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability Form is required for each participant

Amenities:

  • Gym:
    • Curtain divider
    • Stereo and wireless mic
    • Bleachers
    • Upon request: tables and chairs*, bouncy castle, other gym equipment such as floor hockey

Climbing Wall Guidelines:

  • Climbers require the use of a properly fitted harness (no more than one finger fits between body and harness straps)
  • Pockets must be emptied and all snag hazards (jewellery, long laces, hoods, etc.) removed prior to climbing
  • Belay systems must be connected and disconnected by YMCA program staff
  • Climbers must properly demonstrate and utilize a controlled fall from a low height (2-3m)
  • Climb using the holds only. Do not touch the belay system
  • Climb only in your own lane. Descents must be feet first using the push-off technique
  • Bare feet are not allowed; closed toe shoes must be worn at all times
  • No food or drink in the climbing wall area
  • Only climbers and the YMCA program staff are permitted on the floor mats
  • Climbers must be at least age 6+
  • Min weight: 18kgs (40lbs) / Max weight: 136kgs (300lbs)
