Central Labrador YMCA Program Schedule

Please visit our Online Portal to register for or to purchase memberships, passes, programs and services.

NOTE: Any person can create an online profile or view the online portal to see what is being offered. To purchase services or register for an activity/program (e.g. swim lessons), you must have a profile entered online. For all activities/programs, a membership is required. Please use your email address on file with us to access your account by clicking the “forgot your password” link.

Participation and Supervision Guidelines

General

  • Please check in at the Welcome Desk to confirm your attendance.

  • Children (0-11) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or signed into a staff supervised program at all times. When picking children up from a staff supervised program, parents/guardians must show the child’s membership card to the staff person, or be designated an authorized pick up with an online photo.

  • If you are a parent/guardian accompanying children (0-11) entering the facility regularly for a program please obtain a barcode from the Welcome Desk to scan.

  • Members are required to book in advance for all group fitness classes, child youth and family (CYF) programs, gymnasium sports, swim lessons and child minding. Booking can be done via the online portal. Members do not need to register for general use the conditioning centre, track, gymnasium, studio or aquatics centre.

  • Any member/day pass user age 12+ years can attend our facility without adult supervision.

  • Limited lockers will be available, please bring a lock.

Conditioning Centre Guidelines:

  • Open to users 12 years +
  • Wipe down equipment after each use
  • Return equipment to proper storage area
  • 30 min maximum for cardio equipment
  • Allow others to use equipment while resting
  • Do not drop or bang equipment
  • Appropriate attire required
  • Headphones required when using electronic devices
  • Visit the Welcome Desk if you need assistance, or to report an issue

Labrador Region & Central Labrador YMCA Updates

    July 12-15:

    Due to the evacuation order issued to residents of Labrador City, the Central Labrador YMCA has partnered with the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay in offering temporary shelter to all evacuees.

    During this challenging time, all programs and services at the Central Labrador YMCA, with the exception of licensed child care, have been suspended. The child care centre will operate as normal.

    • July 4: Air conditioning has been fully restored at the Central Labrador YMCA. We greatly appreciate you understanding while the General Contractor and the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay resolved the issue.

    Child Protection Information

    For Child Protection, everyone entering through controlled access points at our YMCA must scan/show their membership card, short-term pass bar code or Government-issued photo ID (for ages 16+) with our YMCA staff.

    Sign-in/out policy: At the beginning of the class/program, participants 11 years old and under must check in with the YMCA staff/volunteer instructor with an adult (16 yrs+). At the end of the class/program, participants 11 years old and under must check out by an adult (16 yrs+).

    Caregivers who are not required to participate in their child’s class or program can observe from designated areas. Videography and photography are not permitted to ensure our participants’ privacy.
