Join Our Team
We are seeking Program Coordinator, Newcomer Services to engage with local newcomers and their families to facilitate participation and support integration into the communities. The Coordinator will be responsible for organizing/facilitating group activities for newcomers that support: healthy, active living for all ages with special emphasis on seniors and youth; improving English language skills; community connections through group outings and community events; youth leadership; and intergenerational activities. This is a remote/hybrid contract position based out of St. John’s at the Ches Penney Family YMCA with an expected end date of March 31, 2025.
Job Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in education, social work, social sciences or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Minimum three years of relevant education or experience in a lead role
- Experience working with community partners in a development role
- Experience working with newcomers in a recreational/community setting
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Current Standard First Aid
- Acceptable Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sectors Check
