THRIVE is a 6-month fitness program to help make exercise accessible, achievable, and enjoyable for those new to the YMCA.

YTHRIVE takes the guesswork out of exercise. The biggest barrier to getting and staying active isn’t necessarily the exercise itself, it’s knowing what exercises to do to reach your goals. How many reps? How many sets? How much cardio? This exercise program gives you the tools you need so you can spend your time working on yourself, instead of worrying about planning your exercises.

Register
Members are welcomed and encouraged to register for YTHRIVE on their first visit to help set them up for success early in their experience.
Connect with your Coach
Members are connected to a coach in their first week to establish a supportive relationship who will provide a welcoming connection, information and resources, encouragement and guidance to help them meet their potential.
Feel Supported
YTHRIVE participants will be supported in maintaining their fitness programming with appointments and check-ins to help keep them on track. The touchpoints are scaled with the most support early in their experience. More self-directed programs and resources are available as they transition out of YTHRIVE with all the knowledge, skills and confidence to continue their journey to continued health and wellness.
Consistent Coaching Appointments
There are four planned Coach appointments embedded in the 6-month YTHRIVE Program. Each coach appointment is 45-60 mins (Week 1, 2, 12 and 24).
Regular Check-ins
Beyond the Coach appointments, members will also receive check-ins during their YTHRIVE experience (Week 4, 8 and 18 phone calls) and (Week 16 and 20 email progression reminders)
Graduate and Keep Thriving
As our members graduate and transition out of the YTHRIVE program, they can continue to access the workout library from the Commit stage, with workout plans, exercise videos and resources to help support their continued journey at the YMCA as YTHRIVE Alumni.

Yes, the workout plans are yours to keep. Additionally, as a YTHRIVE Alumni, you will have access to a library of workouts for you to continue progressing your workouts on your own!

Is it possible to participate in YTHRIVE with a friend or partner?2024-12-10T16:13:24-03:30

Depending on your YMCA branch, YTHRIVE coach appointments are done one-on-one as to ensure that you receive a personalized experience tailored to your specific needs.

Following your individual sessions, you can certainly do your YTHRIVE exercises together with a workout buddy! It is a great opportunity to motivate each other and make the experience even more rewarding.

In time, group sessions may become available in select branches.

What is the difference between Personal Training and YTHRIVE?2024-12-10T16:12:50-03:30

YTHRIVE helps you gain the skills, knowledge and confidence on the weight floor so you can get the most of your workouts. There are no additional costs and the exercises can be completed on your own time and schedule.

Personal Trainers will work one-to-one with you to understand your health history, short and long term goals and develop a customized plan to get you there. There is an additional fee for personal training.

Meet with a YTHRIVE coach who will work with you to access your situation. Although many of the exercises can be adapted to accommodate specific limitations or restrictions, it is essential to prioritize your safety and well-being when engaging in any physical activity.

Participants meet with a YMCA coach regularly to learn the workouts safely and get the support needed to keep going.
