The YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador is proud to be a recipient of Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Funding for Round 2 in 2021.

With Canadian Tire Corporation’s commitment of $12 million to Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund in 2021, together, we’ll help build back communities through sport and play. As one of over 500 sport and recreation organizations across Canada to receive grant funding from the latest round of support from Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund this year, the continued need for support is apparent.

In 2021 alone, Jumpstart has disbursed over $9 million in grants to over 800 sport and recreation organizations across Canada through Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund.

Along with Jumpstart, we understand the role sport plays in the health and well-being of kids and their families and are doing everything possible to help community sports continue.

With Jumpstart’s support, the YMCA will ensure safety protocols through the purchase of PPE and cleaning equipment; and through the purchase of specific sports and recreation equipment to help keep children involved and safe at the YMCA while mitigating the risks associated with the transmission of COVID-19. Funds have been provided to help YMCAs on the Avalon Peninsula, Burin Peninsula, and in Central Labrador (opening soon!).

As we continue emerging from these challenging times, we know the role of and return to play will be more important than ever. Thank you Jumpstart, for helping the YMCA keep children active and involved.
