Join Our Team

We are seeking an Education and Awareness Coordinator to provide programming focusing on resource development and entrepreneurship education for youth. The program will develop digital skills training services across the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, including providing the tools, opportunities and wrap around support to youth to enhance their entrepreneurship digital skills and understanding. The program will build capacity for various stakeholders to better understand entrepreneurship paths. The successful candidate will conduct extensive outreach and promote digital contests for youth across Canada and provide training seminars to include an overview of processes needed by youth to make an educated choice with respect to entrepreneurship. This position will be a combination of remote and in-person at the Ches Penney Family YMCA in St. John’s.

Job Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma (or equivalent) in Education, Career Planning, Employment Counselling, field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working with Youth and business planning (entrepreneurship)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with outreach activities and strategies, community engagement, group facilitation and presentations
  • Ability to network, build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to adjust to changing organization, program, job, and participant needs
  • Ability to maintain positive, ongoing working relationships with clients, within professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Platforms, including Outlook, SharePoint, Teams
  • Ability to travel
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle
  • Acceptable Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sectors Check
